Description: The preliminary growth forecast for Connect SoCal 2050 is developed for the period of 2024-50 and at multiple spatial scales. The demographic and economic forecast of population, households, and employment is first developed at the regional and county levels and was guided by SCAG’s demographic panel of experts. County-level household and employment growth is then disaggregated to the jurisdictional and TAZ levels. This dataset reflects the preliminary TAZ-level household and employment growth over 2024-50 developed by SCAG following the guiding principles of being rooted in local planning policies, aligned with state policy, and steered by a regional vision. This data will be reviewed and edited by local jurisdictions during the Local Data Exchange process with an input deadline of November 20, 2026. As such these plan data represent a snapshot in time and may not reflect subsequently available information. Please contact local jurisdictions directly to ensure the most up-to-date planning, development, and construction information. TAZ-level growth projection data are a tool to understand how regional policies and strategies may be reflected at the neighborhood level. They reflect one set of future growth assumptions that would be consistent with the Sustainable Communities Strategy (SCS); however, there are other development assumptions and growth patterns that would also be consistent with the SCS. As such they may not be used to show project inconsistency with Connect SoCal 2050. TAZ-level growth forecast data are advisory and non-binding and there is no obligation by a jurisdiction to change its land use policies, General Plan, or regulations to be consistent with them.Data Description/Field DefinitionField NameAliasData TypeLengthDescription SourceField DescriptionFIDFIDObject IDESRIInternal feature numberShapeShapeGeometryESRIFeature geometryCOUNTYCOUNTYText14SCAGCounty nameCOUNTY_IDCOUNTY_IDText3US CensusCounty FIPS codeCITYCITYText22SCAGCity nameCITY_IDCITY_IDText5US CensusCity FIPS codeTIER2TIER2Text8SCAGTier2 Transportation Analysis ZoneCT2CT2Text16SCAGCity Tier 2 Transportation Analysis ZoneACRESACRESDoubleSCAGAcresSQMilesSQMilesDoubleSCAGSquare milesHH24HH24LongSCAG2024 Total Households by City Tier 2 Transportation Analysis Zone HH35HH35LongSCAG2035 Total Households by City Tier 2 Transportation Analysis Zone HH50HH50LongSCAG2050 Total Households by City Tier 2 Transportation Analysis Zone EMP24EMP24LongSCAG2024 Total Employment by City Tier 2 Transportation Analysis ZoneEMP35EMP35LongSCAG2035 Total Employment by City Tier 2 Transportation Analysis ZoneEMP50EMP50LongSCAG2050 Total Employment by City Tier 2 Transportation Analysis ZoneHH_24_50HH_24_50LongSCAG2024-2050 Total Household growth City Tier 2 Transportation Analysis Zone EMP_24_50EMP_24_50LongSCAG2024-2050 Total Employment growth City Tier 2 Transportation Analysis Zone NOTESNOTESText1SCAGNotesYEARYEARLongSCAGDataset YearShape_LengShape_LengDoubleESRILength of feature in internal unitsShape_AreaShape_AreaDoubleESRIArea of feature in internal units squared
